All Time Non-League XI

We asked supporters to vote on their all time best Non League Eleven. We received an excellent response and the players are listed according to the votes they received. I think it would be a very attacking team if it was ever used with nobody in the midfield to do any tackling but that is because of the way the voting went. I had thought about trying to put together a more functional team but decided that we asked the voters to say what they felt their best X1 were and this is what came out. The goalkeeping position was the closest with only two keepers getting any votes and Dicko came out on top by just one vote from Billy Stewart in second place.

The full results were:

Goalkeeper: Steve Dickinson

Defender 1: Martin Clark

Defender 2: Tim Ryan

Defender 3:Paul Futcher

Defender 4: Scott Guyett

Midfield 1: Mike Marsh

Midfield 2: David Gamble

Midfield 3: Lee Elam

Midfield 4: Carl Baker

Striker 1: Steve Haw

Striker 2: Andy Mutch

Sub GK: Billy Stewart

Sub Defender: Kevin Mooney

Sub Midfielder: Graham Barrow

Sub Striker: Terry Fearns

You can argue for days about this line up with several players who you may expect to be in there not included. Shaun Teale, Phil Bolland, Rob Sturgeon, Paul Lodge, John Coleman, Gary Cooper, Paul Moore, Paul Evans, Andy Farley, Peter Withers, Derek Goulding all miss out along with many other favourites. On another day and another vote I am sure it would work out completely differently!
