RIP Roger Darvell (1931-2014)

We are saddened to hear of the death of former Sandgrounder Roger Darvell who passed away on 21st October 2014. Roger made 280 appearances for the Sandgrounders, primarily at Centre Half, between 1958 and 1965.

RIP Phil Marsden

We are saddened to learn of the death of former Southport captain Phil Marsden who passed away on 7th September after a four month battle with aggressive lung Cancer. Phil made 51 appearances for the Sandgrounders, scoring 10 goals in the 1988/89 season.

RIP Alec Gaskell (1932-2014)

We are saddened to learn that former Sandgrounder Alec Gaskell passed away in March at the age of 81. Alec scored 18 goals in 45 appearances for the Sandgrounders between January 1952 and October 1953.
