Southport Central met Heywood Central at Southport. Against the strong wind the homesters found it difficult to make progress, and play generally was in their half, but Watson and Weir several times tested the Heywood defence. Kenyon, however, scored, and from a corner the visitors added a second. After change of ends the home team attacked and obtained a goal. The visitors hotly disputed the point, and on the referee allowing it they left the field – a very childish proceeding.
