On this day in 1906 the Welsh Druids were the visitors to Ash Lane. Forward Sid Smith, restored to the side in recent weeks after a spell in reserve, was in fine form helped himself to five goals for the second game in succession as the Sandgrounders recorded one of their biggest wins.
