Where is Joe Strong? Very little is known about Joe after leaving Southport. He made 108 appearances between 1981/82 and 1984/85 and scored an arguable 32 goals. Often credited with 33 but the own goal judges have ruled out a goal that had originally been credited to him at Mossley in the 1982/83 season. Joe scored some great goals but will probably be remembered more for the one he missed at Horwich in an FA Cup tie when he rounded the keeper and was walking the ball in to the net, he stumbled, fell over and missed an open goal and we lost 2-1!
