Arriving at Haig Avenue on the back of an 18 game unbeaten run Gola League Kidderminster were the obvious favourites for the tie and Southport had to rely on a twice taken penalty by Peter King goal to earn a replay at Aggborough.
In the league, the record stands at Played 36, Won 10, Drew 8, Lost 18 and there has never been a goalless draw between the two sides.
The last time the two sides met was at Haig Avenue in the last played game of the 2019/20 season before it was curtailed due to the coronavirus pandemic. 903 witnessed a Kidderminster win by 2 goals to 1. It was at this game where we sadly said our goodbyes to club statistician Geoff Wilde who had passed away on 18th February. (Match programme available to download here).
