With the original club gone, Alexandra take the opportunity to change their name.

Southport Cricket club and Birkdale Cricket club merge, playing at Trafalgar Road

Cricket Suspended for War
On 22nd August 1914 the last Cricket match was played.
Cricket did not resume until 1919. Trafalgar Road was left unattended as a playing ground for Brighthelmstone Girls School
