IT WAS a miserable afternoon for Farsley Celtic as they were defeated by Southport for the second time in a month. The game opened with a flurry of chances as Thomas Allen and Josh Hmami forced fine fingertip saves from Tony McMillan and Owen Mason respectively.Mason’s early heroics were soon forgotten however as a tame long ball rolled towards the goalkeeper, Mason missed his clearance, the ball running through his legs and Jordan Archer scooped up the chance to tap into an empty net.Southport doubled their lead shortly after the half-hour as Tyler Walton’s cross was met by a glancing header by Adam Anson, the ball looping into the net.Farsley’s afternoon went from bad to worse 15 minutes into the second half as Frank Mulhern was sent off for a high boot against the side of Anson’s head.Southport continued to surge forward and it paid off as Allan was robbed by Walton, his tackle falling to Niall Watson who was left one-on-one. Watson finished with aplomb to make it 3-0.Watson netted again seven minutes from time as Mason failed to clear and Watson blocked the clearance before firing in a powerful finish.
