Micah Evans’ second-half strike secured Southport’s place in the FA Cup third round for the first time in 16 years with victory over 10-man Eastleigh.
The visitors went in front when Craig McAllister beat Port keeper David Raya Martin to the ball and squared for James Constable to tap home.
The hosts levelled before the break through Richard Brodie’s diving header.
The Spitfires had Dean Beckwith sent off for fouling Mitchell Austin before Evans fired the winner from 15 yards.
Evans should have doubled his tally from close range but blazed over and Ben Strevens almost made him pay as the Eastleigh striker’s header hit a post late on.
