On the back of a 16 unbeaten League games Southport were looking to extend their lead at the top of the Northern Premier League on this day in 1993.

Fleetwood Town were the visitors to Haig Avenue and Southport manager Brian Kettle was able to welcome back defender Leroy Dove and midfielder Mark Brennan from injury.

The result was a resounding victory for the Sandgrounders.
