Mortensen’s Decision

Accepts Southport F.C. Offer

Stanley Mortensen, the former England forward, has accepted the invitation to take over complete supervision of Southport F.C.’s playing staff next season.

He will have charge in the dressing room and be responsible for coaching, practice, policy and tactics, and will also continue as a player.

Councillor J. Clough, Southport’s chairman, states that he believes this will turn out to be one of the best strokes of business the club has done for a long time.

The first Southport player to re-sign for next season is goalkeeper Jack Richardson, who lives at Rock Ferry .

TRANSFER REQUESTS

Don Hunter and Bob McIlvenny have been taken off the retained and placed on the transfer list at their own request.

Dennis Miles, right winger, has refused the terms offered for next season, and has asked to be placed on the transfer list. This will be considered in due course
